This is a great introductory question to learn a lot about someone from what career they’ve chosen. Maybe their work and education are completely different, you never know. If you’re dying to start a family, and they don’t want kids, it might not be a good fit. Maybe you’re allergic to cats, and well, they’re a cat lover. This is the original game that inspired the Not So Newlywed Game and another favorite getting to know you game, If The Shoe Fits.
I've been seeing a lot of blog posts floating around out there with titles like "50 questions to ask your spouse on a date night". Or sometimes television and movies are used as the prime way of spending time together. I certainly love my shows and I love cuddling with my hubby, but I've learned how important it is to stay connected, and while it's ok to have TV and cuddle time, that's NOT going to cut it if that's all you do.
Almost all have the purpose of helping you get to know each other better, but also to give you something to talk about when your mind is drawing a blank. I like these Fun and Random questions because they're not your typical questions you'll see in other posts, like "what is your favorite food, favorite hobby, biggest dreams" or sometimes the questions get really deep so that you can really dig into your relationship and what is happening there. In fact, I may make a future post about my favorites from those lists. ;)Research has found that people are happier when they have more fun in their lives.
Sometimes all I can think to talk about is stuff about the kids or the schedule for the week, etc.
An ideal group for this Not So Newlywed Game would be 3-4 couples. We highly suggest you laminate these and use some dry erase markers so the players can write their answers on these during the game over and over again! Invite the wives away from the playing area to a place where they cannot hear their husband’s answers.
